I've been pretty clichéd in my selection on this page, frankly regarding the shops it is hard not to be because they are classic shops, everyone already has heard of them!! Harrods, one of the most famous stores in the world, reputedly if you ask, they will get absolutely anything in the world As a child I used to go and look at the exotic animals in the pet department - these days they are not so exotic - that's political correctness for you!! Of course you've got to buy something, just to get a harrods bag!!! Selfridges, a huge department store in a fabulous building on Oxford Street, a must visit really, the food halls are a highlight for me, the shop windows are works of art and there is a vast selection of almost everything you would want. Portobello Market, traditional street market, which is hugely busy every saturday with Londoners and Visitors alike, known especially as Portobello Road Antiques Market, the street is nearly 2 miles long and is also well known for clothes and fashion. next ...
